I will be on a ship that visits Ulvik in May. The forum did not appear to have too much information on the village so I thought that I would post the information which the Ulvik Tourism office sent me for future reference.

"It is so nice that you want to learn more about the activities offered in Ulvik!

Here is a list of activities that we normally suggest:

  • The Olav H. Hauge Centre, this is a museum about a famous poet from Ulvik, and is interesting for those who are into poetry and literature.

For more details, contact information and opening hours : https://hardangerfjord.com/en/attractions/the-olav-h-hauge-centre-969913

  • The fruit and cider route, this is the only fruit and sider route in Norway, the route consist of three apple farms that you can walk or drive between to taste or/and buy their amazing products. The route takes about 1,5 hours.

For more details, contact information and opening hours: https://siderruta.no/en/

You can also visit the farms individually:

  • B-active, B-active offers rental kayaks, small boats, and bicycles, and they offer small, guided tours.

For more details, contact information and opening hours: https://www.bactivecenter.com/en_GB

  • ANGR, ANGR also offers rental kayaks, SUP boards and Canoes.

For more details, contact information and opening hours: https://angr.no/en/

  • Ulvik has a lot of beautiful nature and has shorter and longer hiking trails, depending on how long you are staying.

For more details visit the website: https://ut.no/utforsker/kommune/17604/ulvik/turforslag, or contact us at the Ulvik Tourist information.

For a quick bite we recommend:

  • Den Grøne Kafe, this is a café that offers different variations of foods, and is located by the dock, at the bottom floor of the Olav H. Hauge Centre.

For more details, contact information and opening hours: https://dengronekafe.no/en/ or their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/dengronekafe/?locale=nb_NO

  • Sentrum Café Ulvik, this is a small café that offers homemade food.

For more details, contact information and opening hours visit their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SentrumCafeUlvik/

We also recommend walking around town exploring and looking at the beautiful landscaping, hope this was helpful!

Best regards,

Ulvik tourist office"

  • 2 weeks later...

When we booked our cruise, the stop was already Ulvik so we can't be disappointed. It should be beautiful though.

We will probably just do some hiking/wandering around. If anything happens to be available at the dock, we may see if anything sounds interesting.

A person on our roll call has been trying for months to arrange a tour with one of the cider farms, but they are not responding to her emails. Our ship arrives on May 30th, so we arrive before everything opens up.
