Phone call from Princess to offer future cruise package

Hopefully, Princess will end this.  I don't think they will get many Platinum or Elite members to sign up for this.  We already know how to travel and know this is a rip off.

I'm the one who started this thread on March 3rd.  I just got another phone call from "Princess" to offer me the future cruise package.  I told the caller that I had already been called and said I was NOT interested.  The caller continued to talk about the cruises I had been on.  I finally told him to make sure I was on the "do not call" list and I hung up.

Princess is doing this to pad their books because they need the money, and they need it now.  It's like buying a gift card for Princess.  They take your money now and you use it later.  However, because the money is already in Princess' possession, they can add it to some column in their accounting.

Not for all.  Make sure to understand all the components before pulling the trigger.

It doesn’t do anything for the books as it is recorded as a liability. It is strictly a cash play.  Cheaper than issuing bonds.

It may be of value to some.  I’m more of a pay as you go buyer.

The people running open network exchange

Seems to have started a similar business in the past

International Cruise and Excursion   since renamed to Arrivia

This is the Better Business Bureau customer review page for that company

Now I know why the call had a timeshare sales feel to it.  This is an article about one of the founders from back in 2012

Very interesting that the Open Network Exchange folks are behind the new timeshare-ish offering.  They apparently are doing "something" to support the Medallion (see screenshot below) and I know that some of their employees trained the casino reservations call center staff in the Philippines.  The ones who were involved with that effort have Princess email addresses too so they do have access to a heckuva lot of information on cruisers.

I just got this call, only reason I answered it was because it was from Santa Clarita. The lady knew my Captain's Circle level, when my last cruise was and that I had purchased an FCD on that cruise. I didn't give her confirmation of anything she had said but asked if I was interested in a special offer, my reply was if this is the $6,000 offer then I'm not interested. She was very gracious and didn't push any further and offered to have me removed from the calling list.
