Our family will be on the Venezia this summer with our son, DIL, almost 3 yr old grandson and 10 month old grandson. First time with kids and I have questions.

1. will they have to bring a pack n play or does Carnival have them for use?

2. will the 2 boys be old enough for Camp Carnival?

3. can the toddler use the pool and water features in a swim diaper?

if anyone has any suggestions on less stress traveling with littles, this grandma would appreciate it!

thanks

I believe they will need to bring their own pack n play the rest of your answers can be found on Carnival.com

The following Pool Rules signage is posted at all pools, fleet wide:

  • No Lifeguard on Duty
  • Parents are responsible for their children
  • No children in diapers or who are not toilet-trained
Camp Ocean® offer Night Owls for children 6 months to 11 years, allowing parents/guardians time to enjoy the nightlife without having to worry about their little ones.

When?
  • Night Owls is available each evening from 10:00pm-1:00am.
  • During the day, parents/guardians can advise the Youth Staff if their child will be participating in Night Owls.
  • If there are no children participating by 12:00am (midnight), Night Owls service will be cancelled for the evening. The service closes after the last child is picked up, if past 12:00am.
How Much?
  • $7.50 per hour plus an 18% service charge, per child
  • No discount for additional children or family rates. Fees apply per child.
  • Fees are due upon pick-up and paid via Sail & Sign® card directly to the Youth Staff on duty. Cash is not an acceptable form of payment.
  • Any child left past 1:00am will be charged double (for the time period beyond 1:00am) and will forfeit Night Owls privileges for the remainder of the cruise, if the policy is abused.
Where?
  • Night Owls take place inside the Camp Ocean facility with a 'slumber party' type atmosphere, including movie time, arts & crafts, toys, video games, snacks and more.
  • Children sleep on pillows and blankets. Cots are not provided.
  • For infants, Pack N' Plays are available for usage.
  • Note: Carnival Cruise Line does not offer any in-stateroom services.
Sign In/Out Policy
  • Children ages 6 months to 11 years must be signed in and out by the parent/legal guardian or the authorized persons over the age of 18.
  • The adult is required to present their Sail & Sign card each time they drop off and pick up their child. For the safety of the child, there are no exceptions to this rule.

The little ones can enjoy the best parts of summer camp, year-round aboard their Carnival cruise. At Camp Ocean kids will have a blast in supervised, age-based groups and give each a cool marine-life label: Penguins (2 to 5 years), Stingrays (6 to 8 years) and Sharks (9 to 11 years). Together with their group they’ll enjoy tons of fun-filled, age-appropriate activities like arts and crafts, songs, games, toys, dancing, movies and video games. When it’s mealtime, kids eat together and get their own menus with back-on-land faves like mac & cheese, chicken nuggets and more. The whole time, our experienced counselors will be there to make sure everyone in these small groups has an amazing time. Plus, when the sun goes down it’s Night Owls time — fees apply, but kids get to stay up late having fun while their parents also enjoy themselves well into the night.

Children under the age of 2 are welcome to join Camp Ocean programming and Night Owls during specific times. Hours may vary due to cruise itineraries.
  • Sea Days: There are limited times throughout the cruise for ‘Under 2' time. During these times, parents/guardians have the option of leaving their child in the care of the Youth Staff (fees apply: $7.50 USD per hour plus an 18% service charge, per child) – or - they can stay and use the camp facility at no charge. This time is designated for the use of 'Under 2’s' and parents/guardians only. Check on board for specific times offered. Hours may vary due to cruise itineraries.
  • Port Days: While in port, parents/guardians have the option of leaving their child in the care of the Youth Staff (fees apply: $7.50 USD per hour plus an 18% service charge, per child), however, we do not provide care during meal times for children 'Under 2'; parents/guardians must return from port at this time.
  • Evenings: Night Owls (babysitting fees apply: $7.50 USD per hour plus an 18% service charge, per child). From 10:00pm-1:00am each evening in the Camp Ocean facility, a ‘slumber party’ type atmosphere, including movie time, toys and room service snacks. During this time, there will be children from other age groups (ages 2-11 years) participating in Night Owls. Cribs are available if needed.
Potty-Trained
Children do not have to be potty-trained in order to participate in Camp Ocean and/or Night Owls. Parents should provide the Youth Staff with diapers and toiletries to be used for their child.

To answer your question about cribs...

Carnival provides (sturdy) cribs.  Call and request them for your cabin(s)

We sailed Alaska this last summer in a balcony with our (just turned)2 y.o., and followed the advice of the below (linked)blog.

We brought along magnetic hooks, and a 10' x 7' fabric shower curtain/drape -- (Configured the same, but slightly more opaque than the one shown below in this picture).

It worked out great for us.

1   bruing your own sheets-- there are hard and scratchy
