Transfers to Port of Miami from a pre-cruise hotel?

This is my first time getting air through NCL. We are staying at Miami Airport Marriott the night before our cruise. We booked through NCL, so the transfer is included. But how does transportation work? Will a bus pick us up, or will the hotel shuttle service take us? Will we be given an embarkation time, or can we pick one ourselves?

In Orlando we took the hotel shuttle back to the airport and got the transfer bus there.  Most likely it would be the same in Miami.  Your eDocs should have details on that.  

 

The one awkward thing with the process was that the eDocs informed us that the earliest transfer was at 11am after we had selected a 9:30 check in time.  It was really no problem, though, since there is no penalty for showing up later than your check in time.

What a terrible way to get to the port.  In Orlando, my comfortable and quick Uber was $58 from an airport hotel to the port.  In Miami, it's a little over half that.

We used NCL hotel/transfer last year in Miami. There is a bus from the hotel and it was scheduled at 11am. We didn’t want to wait that late so we just took an Uber the few miles to the Port. We took NCL transfer back to airport as well. Wouldn’t do that again either.

Did NCL book the Miami Airport Hotel for you?  I do not recommend that hotel at all.

We have always just taken a taxi from the hotel we are staying at. Usually the Marriott Biscayne Bay.  Quick, easy and readily available. No waiting around and able to set our own schedule.
