Train from Ashdod Port to Tel Aviv

My partner doesn’t want to do the trip from Ashdod to Masada as he doesn’t want to go on the cable car. I’ve been before, so I don’t mind. Apart from the cruise excursion I can’t find another small group trip to Tel Aviv/Jaffa. So, I was wondering how easy it is to take the train.

I understand you have to take a shuttle bus from out of the port.

Has anybody on here done the journey and if so, how easy was it? Any information would be appreciated.

We stayed in Jaffa following a cruise that ended in Haifa and the trip from the port couldn't be easier. No shuttle is required, you can walk from the cruise terminal to the train station in less than 5 minutes. Trains leave every half hour and you don't need to buy a ticket in advance. If you want to go to Jaffa, get off the train at Haganah station which is a short cab ride to the centre of Jaffa.
