The Wharves Board of Trustees approved the contract at the March 24th meeting and authorized the Port Director to execute the contract. I assume it will be signed this coming week. There is no link. I spoke with one of the Trustees this morning.

I believe most of the drivers come from the mainland as Galveston does not have the population to support. Same with taxis.

ssb Posted March 28, 2023 Author #9 Share Posted March 28, 2023 We have to presume Uber will continue to drive in and out of Port Properties just like they have been all along.
SCBarker Posted March 28, 2023 #10 Share Posted March 28, 2023 I wonder how much it costs the rideshares to access? I know it is outrageous for the parking shuttle buses. Something like $50 or $100 everytime they swipe thru the port gate. They damn near lose money if they only have one car of people onboard.

Charge is $4.00 per round trip. Houston airport charges are $2.75 plus $1.00 between 8 PM and 6 AM. Cruise passenger fees are $11.00 each embarking; $11.00 each disembarking.
