How long does it take to disembark?

Suppose your boarding pass says you disembark at your destination at 8:30am.  What time will it be when you are completely through the process and on your own?

This probably depends on where you are disembarking.  And whether you are doing self assist, meaning carrying your own bags off.  In Port Everglades last Dec it didn't take long at all- like 1.5 to 2 hrs from cruise terminal to FLL airport.  This was with them taking our bags night before & using the HAL airport shuttle.   But that time is going to vary a lot depending on where you disembark & your transportation to airport.

Also depends upon which group tag you pick for disembarkation. Get the early color for your luggage if you need to disembark asap. Get the latest color if you want to stay on the ship for as long as possible. Self-disembarkation is even faster than selecting the early color group.

For Ocean cruises:  

Our earliest was 7:20 am, took 10 minutes to disembark in Ft Laud.

Latest was 1 pm, 2 days later, because of fog in Galveston.

 

For River:

Earliest was as 2 am for early morning flight in Budapest.

Latest was 1pm for later flight in Amsterdam, they allowed to stay onboard for lunch.

Last Saturday did the disembark where we carry our own bags.  Joined the queue at 7am, were in the terminal by 7:17 and had driven out of the garage by 7:29.  That was an amazing experience, since usually the ship isn't cleared to let people off until 7:30!
