Vanilla purchased in Puerto Plata

We recently purchased some vanilla while visiting Puerto Plata from what appeared to be a very nice gift shop, Island Treasures, in the center of town. When I opened the vanilla it was very thick. I've tried to reach out via email to the manufacturer to get more info but no luck. Has anyone bought vanilla from Dominican Republic?

The Dominican Vanilla is a bit thicker than what you would buy at your supermarket. It is much stronger and sweeter as well. When my mom uses it for baking, she doesn't use as much because it is much sweeter. Is the vanilla clear or brown?

I bought that exact bottle of vanilla when I was on a cruise, and it was the greatest vanilla I have ever tasted! Now, I cannot find it anywhere online or at a grocery store, or any of the big box stores. I am guessing the only way to get another bottle of this particular Karla brand vanilla is to go back to the Dominican and get more.

We're going back next month, I'll be sure to ask more questions about their vanilla!

The vanilla I purchased is brown and very thick. We're going back next month, I have a lot of questions to ask about their vanilla.
