Healthmark Posted April 17, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 17, 2023 Going on the Breakaway and wondering if it matters which bar onboard can handle most people's thirst for the various drinks, wines and beers (e.g martinis, Irish whiskeys, Kahula drinks, etc.) and serve the same assortment of drinks or is it necessary to check out the drink menu at the different locations? Rare luv2kroooz Posted April 17, 2023 #2 Share Posted April 17, 2023 It will vary from bar to bar. Generally, your Atrium bar, O'Sheehans, Mixx and the bars up on the pool deck will have a wide variety of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails. Then, you will have some bars that are more spirit focused, like Shaker's which focuses on martinis. Not sure you could get a pina colada or strawberry daiquiri at the martini bar. They may not even have a blender. Likewise, Maltings is going to be more focused on Whisky, Bourbon and Scotch. They will have a special menu focusing on cocktails made with Whisky, Bourbon and Scotch. Now, they will probably still have some vodka, gin, rum, etc, to make basic gin and tonic, vodka soda, rum and coke, but there may be some drinks for which they don't have the ingredients since they are focusing on bourbons there. The bar in La Cucina will probably have Limoncello which you might not find at every other bar on the vessel. Hope that helps!

Most bars can handle standard drinks. Specialty drinks depends on the bar. Most bars have the "default" bar menu. But sometimes you will find that they don't stock all. Last week, we tried to get some port wine at the casino bar and had to go to O'Sheehans. Some bars had Miller Lite (which had be absent from the ship for several weeks due to supply chain) and some didn't. On another ship, you could not get any tropical drinks, especially frozen drinks, at the whisky bar. You can find most bar menus from the Breakaway from last fall on my live post. MNcruisingcouple Posted April 18, 2023 #4 Share Posted April 18, 2023 When we were on the Breakaway in February at Maltings, the whiskey bar, they couldn't do blended drinks or mojitos. But just outside at the bar on the Waterfront they could. So, it isn't as if you're going to have to go far to find your drink of choice.
