Luggage Drop Off Southampton Question

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to drop off our luggage at Southampton before our embarkation time? Our time for getting to the terminal is 4pm but were driving for 8hrs to get there. I'm planning on arriving around 2pm and hoping to drop off the bags before heading off somewhere for a couple of hours.

Yes, you can drop your luggage and wander back into Southampton.

Is there somewhere to park while we drop the luggage off please or can you just pull over and take the luggage over. Don’t want to be getting a parking ticket ! We may use Just park and would prefer to have offloaded the cases beforehand.

Yes, just go to the drop off point, hand over your luggage to a porter or stick it in the hole in the wall, then drive out.

Easy peasy...

You park right outside the terminal (marshalls on hand to direct you) and either take your cases to the hole in the wall yourself, or use the services of one of the porters,  with an aporopriate tip. (We give £1 per case).

Whatever happens,  you won't get a ticket.

That’s great, thank you both so much. If we do decide to use Just park would prefer to not be seen offloading the cases. We have used CPS before but just cannot justify the price this year !

Nobody cares, lots of us do it...

It might be worth just parking at West Quay for £5 per day and walking/Uber back.

Yes, we have used West Quay previously and may do so again. I only drive an old car, either Just Park or the shopping centre are fine.

Out of interest, did you consider Parking4cruises  ?

Just as convenient as CPS, speedier, and cheaper !

I did price them up. It was £95. WestQuay is £35 and Just Park ranges from £50-70. Husband prefers West Quay

So, after the taxi cost,  West Quay will be about £40 cheaper ?

If we can drop the bags off first we can walk it from West Quay so it would just be a taxi one way. It will depend on our embarkation time too. We had 11am on Princess but last time with P & O it wasn’t until 3.45pm so we would have the day to kill.
