I lived in St Catharines Ontario shown on the map. The lift bridges crossing the Welland Canal (part of the lock system) in my home town were part of daily life. Summer days sitting on the banks watching the foreign ships sail through. Thanks for the memories.

I have family who live in Port Colborne, at the Lake Erie end of the Welland Canal, and it is a point of pride that folks can identify the lakers that come through just from silhouette.
