Sete Cidades or Lagoa do Fogo (Azores) ?

Recommended Posts

We are deciding on two options for a private tour and hoping for some input from recent visitors.

Sete Cidades

- Pico do Carvao viewpoint

- Lagoa do Santiago

- Sete Cidade Village

- Vista do Rei Viewpoint

OR

Lagoa do Forgo

- Pico da Barrosa viewpoint

- Lagoa do Fogo

- Caldeira Velha

- Ribeira Grande Village

Know they are both beautiful but appreciate some help deciding.

Thank you.

Not sure if you are still wondering about this or whether your cruise is already over but I did a shore excursion with NCL that was pretty similar to the second one above (plus a visit at a horse farm). I had a great time and would recommend it (though the horse farm was one of the highlights). Unfortunately, I haven't done the other excursion yet so can't really compare the two.

I did write up a fairly detailed review of my excursion (with photos) for my blog so if you are interested you could take a look at that to get an idea of what you would see (minus the horses of course): SHORE EXCURSION AZORES: ISLAND VIEWS, TASTES AND HORSES - Kitty meets World

Which tour did you do??  I'm wondering which one to pick, too.

Thanks for the reminder as I completely forgot about this post since responses were slim.

And thanks for sharing your review which I will read.

@Mimiya11 we just booked a cruise with an Azores stop and am researching excursion experiences.

what did you decide to do? Have you already sailed and if so did you take one of the tours and how was it?

much obliged!

@Twolittleboys that sounds wonderful…. Unfortunately our NCL cruise isn’t offering the hot prose farm option (I used to ride).

We sail in November.  Since we are limited to 1/2 day in port and one of our group has mobility issues, we booked with Adapted and Seniors Tour Portugal who we are also using in Lisbon to see Sintra.

We are going to take the Sete Cidades area tour.

Will report back upon our return
