Zaandam - cabin G2505

I wouldn't want to be that far forward, even if the cabin wasn't smaller than other outsides.
The ship curves there, and some space is lost to that curve. I haven't been in the room, so can't comment on how much less space there is there. I can comment on other outside cabins, and they are very comfortable for two people.

Hi just wondering if anyone has any feedback on this cabin - considering booking and not sure on size for 2 people

Here is some info on the former Rotterdam cabin 2512.  This was also an R class ship and the cabin is fairly close to 2505.  So the cabins should be similar.  I would not book it based solely on the forward location.

jlou, my husband and I booked late, so this was the OV cabin we selected from the handful available.  We preferred to not do a Guarantee this time, not to mention other considerations.  I am not impressed by the above comments but we will just make do.  When we return, maybe I can provide you some more specific info, if you still are interested.

Hi - I actually just got off the cruise with this cabin.   I'm very security conscious so wasn't feeling good about adding this piece of info to my original post.   I got upgraded from an inside to this cabin a couple of days before sailing and was quite anxious as my previous experience with forward cabins was not positive and I was taking a grandchild so was a special cruise.

The cabin is much smaller than the inside I had booked so while it was a generous upgrade from a cost perspective - from a size perspective it was a negative.  The main thing missing was the couch and the vanity was difficult to use other than storage.   The portholes added light and actually more clear to look out of than I have found the windows in an outside cabin.  We had the 2 bed configuration which seemed to give more room around the beds than with the single bed.  Storage was plentiful so no cut back there.   We had a fair bit of rougher waters on this cruise and I was pleasantly surprised that there was no major motion concerns which was a concern.   There was noise when getting into port and leaving but even this was not anything major as we usually slept thru it.

So other than reduced size I was satisfied with this cabin and the location.  It turned out to be much better than originally anticipated.  So 'Beach Spring'  I hope this helps you out with your upcoming cruise.
