I received almost the exact same reply to an email that I had sent in- I have received wonderful offers for years. I took 2 elite cruises last year, when I got off the last in November received a free suite but now I do not have 1 offer? I sometimes wonder if Carnival knows what players club is doing. I have 3 cruises booked the rest of the year and None on Carnival, who I love and I just got to Diamond on the last cruise. Sad really.

I wonder the same thing! Reading through all the things that they MAY be checking still does not constitute a reason for my friend to get some amazing offers while I get bad ones.

It seems like all other cruise lines are very cut and dry. (You get this many points you are at this level and will get these types of offers) May I ask if you prefer any of these other cruise lines when it comes to offers?

For years I've wondered why Carnival does not encourage people to move within their brand (typically, "up").

We had enough sailings with Celebrity (owned by Royal) that we were granted Diamond status with Royal when we sailed them the next time. They also give credit in the other direction (Royal>Celebrity). For us to have almost no history with Royal, but be "granted" Diamond status was a nice touch.... good for a few free drinks every day, among other perks.

I don't see why Carnival won't offer something to their loyal cruisers - to help keep them under the same corporate umbrella. Otherwise, those guests might dip their toes somewhere else (where they also receive no reciprocity) and find that they like it, and start to drift away from Carnival.

Probably a “supply and demand” thing. If they are filling the ships, they don’t need to.  I also have heard others say they wonder if the high level passengers bring in as much on board revenue as the new cruisers.  Supposedly a very good portion of there dollars come from, wi-fi, drink packages, shopping in the stores, excursions, etc. Many high level travelers get some of those items free, and the others many have stopped doing (excursions, shopping).

Yeah I dont get it when I see post from people that have cruised Carnival 7 to 8 times and won’t try a different cruise line because they want to make Platinum.

Haha. That’s me!  And I question myself why do I care so much for making platinum when outside of a couple of small bags of free laundry and boarding 10 minutes before the rest there’s not a lot to brag about once you get it.

I do have a Princess cruise on hold and I’ve got 36 more hours to decide if I want it.
But the stupid temptation to stay with Carnival and knowing that they don’t count Princess towards the 12 more days I need for platinum keeps me from finalizing the booking. If I don’t book it I’m probably just not gonna go anywhere (it would be a Super Bowl cruise) cause it’s the only one that sails from my home port that week.

If you're going to stray from Carnival, go all the way - venture out to Royal, Celebrity, or NCL!

I agree- my nephew, who is 22 years old and just out of college and just got his 1st job gets offers every day. (the emails come to me, unfortunately) his last cruise in 2018, he gambled with money that I gave him and it was not much. I never thought I would want Carnival to be cut and dry like the others because I always got such great offers but maybe it would be better. And no I haven't sailed many other cruise lines in the past 5 years or so. I did Windstar last summer but no casino. I do get offers from RC but they are not great and I am not a fan of NCL at all .My next cruise is Cunard and it is same casino as Carnival, so we shall see. After that I might try NCL or Virgin.
