questions about suite perks

We'll be sailing the Jewel and had a few questions about suite perks (AD category)

1. Do we get a mobile phone in this suite?

2. I know that room service has a time frame in which they bring you breakfast- is this the same deal with the butler or will he/she bring it whenever you're ready? (we like to sleep in):)

3. What is the latest we can disembark on the last day? We have a late afternoon flight and, in any case, if this ship and suite are as great as they sound, I'm sure we won't be in any hurry to leave anyway!

4. Has anyone stayed in the AD suites?

Thank you!

I have not stayed in an AD, nor have I sailed the Jewel, but essentially what applies on the Dawn will also apply on the Jewel, so I'll try to answer some of your questions.

Regarding room service for breakfast - you will be furnished with special "order forms" to use, which will have a space for you to check off your preferred time frame for delivery. The times start at 6:30 and go all the way to 10:30 or so. You'll find these in a special leather book in the suite, and it will also contain all the menus for the dining rooms for the entire week.

Regardless of when you order room service, it will ALWAYS be delivered by your butler. ;)

You will not have the mobile phone to carry around the ship. Those are in AB's, AA's, and Courtyard and Garden Villas.

You should be able to remain in your suite fairly late on disembarkation day. Depending on what time the ship plans on docking, the Concierge will advise you accordingly. You can also take advantage of special disembarkation escorted by the Concierge if you wish. :)

You're gonna have a wonderful time!!!!!

mga110,

I have friend on the Jewel right now. She is taking an NCL sponsored tour after they arrive back at the port of Miami. It's a tour of Miami and they take you to the airport after. You have to have a flight later then 3:30pm. You can only sign up for it while on the ship.

I hope this helps.

Happy Sailing,

Monty

Thank you everybody for your help. :)

I'm so excited even though our cruise isn't until christmas!

That is a nice idea about the Miami shore excursion-we'll have to look into that since our flight leaves at 4:00.

We did the tour in Miami in February 2005. It was well worth it!

Going in an AG suite.

Any help in maximizing our time.

I turn 55 on the 10th of April,

do they do birthdays.

Thanks for any info!

Happy Birthday for the 10th April! Yes, you can buy a birthday package for $30 and receive a large cake with cabin decorations or you can request a complimentary cake to be delivered to your dinng table and the waiters will sing happy birthday.

enjoy!

Not quite true. All cabins on the Jewel that have butler service have portable phones. That means any cabin designated as a Penthouse level (AE and up) and above.

How cool is that!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D Maybe they realized how much folks enjoyed that perk on the Dawn, and expounded upon it for the Jewel~ nice addition!

We're on the Jewel over Christmas also------we have 6 rooms on deck 11 (a couple of penthouses and mini-suites & 2 inside rooms), so I'm enjoying this thread re: suite perks! Thanks for starting it! You can't hear too much about the ship you're sailing or the suites you're anticipating, can you? I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!:p

Hi teddybear8888,

Welcome to the boards. Lots of good info here and you're doing the right thing asking questions to help make your 1st cruise a wonderful one.

Sorry, but an AG is a minisuite, so you will not receive the perks reserved for the suites.

If you don't wish to purchase the whole birthday pkg with room decorations, cake and confetti, you can let the maitre d' in the DR or spec. restaurant know that you're celebrating a b'day and they will present a cake at the end of the meal. Sometimes people let their TA know about it in advance (and I've seen little cards in the cabins in the Dawn telling you to present it to the maitre d').

You might just ask one of the maitre d's on the Jewel what the procedure is, so you can be all set in advance.

Have a great first cruise. The Jewel is superb.

tray,

Good to hear from another Jewel Christmas cruiser! I love these message boards- I just can't get enough of this! :D

We were on the Sun a few years ago during the holidays and the Christmas trees were beautiful and they had these huge gingerbread houses set up all over the ship. I can't wait to see how they will decorate the Jewel!
