jammowem1954 Posted May 27, 2023 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2023 We are 1st time cruisers travelling on the Journey to Jamaica cruise in November. Was there a similar cruise to this last year? If so, when would the " Dress to Impress Nights" if any be? Are we to assume this would apply to one of the speciality restaurants like The Dining Club or Kora La? We have also heard about "White" nights and "Bright " nights. Could someone please give us the heads up about this. We definitely want to throw ourselves into the experiences onboard. AlanCruise Posted May 28, 2023 #2 Share Posted May 28, 2023 The dress to impress night on the shorter cruises is typically the first sea day, not sure about the one you are on. It is not an enforced dress code, just an encouragement to dress smartly. So does not apply speciifically to certain restaurants, just generally around the ship. Never come across the other theme nights on the various marella cruises we have done.
Manchester is blue Posted May 29, 2023 #3 Share Posted May 29, 2023 We went on the 17 night transatlantic cruise, from Palma to Montego Bay last year. There were ( from memory) two dress to impress nights, although no “white”, or “Bright” nights. The dress to impress nights were hardly observed with most people simply dressing as normal for their evening meals ,… smart casual. Although those that did dress to impress were not frowned upon in any way, so you should dress up if you choose to do so on your own cruise. jammowem1954 Posted June 2, 2023 Author #4 Share Posted June 2, 2023 Thanks very much for your replies. Just another question. Is it possible to take three large cases for the flight to meet the ship, bearing in mind this does not include hand luggage? If so do Marella provide luggage tags for all luggage? Sorry about these stupid questions but we booked it on impulse.
Rare dronnygirl Posted June 2, 2023 #5 Share Posted June 2, 2023 Your allowance is 20kgs per person plus hand luggage which can be up to 10kgs. I believe you can split the allowance over 2 cases if you need. Luggage labels will be available to print off shortly before your cruise
AlanCruise Posted June 3, 2023 #6 Share Posted June 3, 2023 As you get the luggage labels online you can print as many as you want. I believe you have a weight limit for luggage but you can split it over more than one suitcase.
Pensioncruiser Posted June 3, 2023 #7 Share Posted June 3, 2023 You can also pay for extra weight, but you do have a max per piece, think it's 23kg but check that😉
