OBC Combinables (shareholders and military etc)

We are relatively new to the HAL family; I find myself confused and hope someone can answer my question:

Are the CCL stock holders OBC and Military/First Responder/Educator/Medical Personnel combinable?
In other words:
Can we apply for and receive OBC for our CCL stock PLUS apply for and receive our Educator/First Responder OBC of $100??

Yes indeed!  We have Shareholder and Military without a problem. Do you have the online form for military?  It’s a quick and easy process that apparently goes through a vetting process that takes a day or two.

Thank you!

We booked 2 cruises in late December of 2022 as side by sides for late spring of 2024 - a total of 42 nights. We could really use the additional OBC of $100 per person per cruise.

We have applied for and received on shareholder OBC.
The "hiccup" is with our first responder/educator OBC.

I recently registered for the Educator OBC, verified within minutes,  but was told I could not receive it as it is for new bookings only.  I understand as I am new to the filing.
However, my husband had his First Responder on file, but, a HAL rep told me he had to reapply annually.  We did not know this.
So, I reapplied, received verification within minutes, and again:  New Bookings Only.

Any advice would be most greatly and graciously appreciated.

"new bookings only" is not something I've encountered, and I HOPE it's not a new thing. Call the 800# (probably not today), and choose the option for repricing, hoping that person is more knowledgeable. Please post back and let us know.

Also, if you're recently back from a cruise, you may receive a "Welcome Home" email, with a promotional OBC for booking again. I have been able to apply that as well. Click the link so you can read the particulars and get the promotion code, which has been helpful when I've called, but again usually requires a pricing specialist. I don't know if the Welcome Homes are ongoing, or just an attempt to kick some life into bookings. Also, I don't know if Mariner level has anything to do with it or not. We are 4*.

Good luck!!

I will absolutely call…thank you.

Which do you suggest I call:  Mariners phone ending in 9139 or their regular customer service number ending in 4259?

(We are Celebrity E+ and I know which phone numbers to call for each purpose lol)

We are almost 3* (2* currently).  We are hoping to book more of the longer journeys HAL has to offer. We like the bundling very very much.

Travel is wonderful!

I just call the regular 800# - they are (mostly) always available and have always been good to me.

@SusieKIslandGirl, only one of us is eligible for military/educator, but I don't doubt that's the case.

I would though expect the credit to be available for both reservation confirmation numbers on a B2B @Ellesor826

We were told the educator benefit was per cabin, not per person. I'm not sure if that applies to 2 people with military benefits.

Yes, thank you, it’s one per cabin.  Understandably.
I would be thrilled to receive either my educators or my husband’s first responder.
The HAL system is not allowing us to redeem either for our any of our cruises.

I will reach out this week to see what can be applied as an extra $100 OBC is always welcome.  In addition to our shareholder OBC of $250/ cruise.  (We have a 28 day & a 14 day side by side booked).

I appreciate your help & will update once I know what’s what.  ☺️

I can also tell  you that applying for Military Credit is for Future New Bookings as well, they will not budget on this. Personally I find it disrespectful to not off the credit to long time Mariners that are just now finding out about the Military credit but they cannot use it on any current reservations or even staterooms on hold if done prior to applying for the credit. Once they are approved the Military credit is attached to their Mariner number and they will always get it in the future but not for any currently booked reservations if just applying for it.

Military credit is attached to their Mariner

My husband has First Responder and has filed and verified in the past.  However, it did not become attached to his Mariner account.
I just filed for my Educator & immediately verified.

When I asked HAL why it (First responder) wasn’t attached, I was told that he had to apply annually.  And, to reapply and once verified, select REDEEM. (Which I did but it indicates new bookings only). The HAL rep from last week also told me the First Responder would be applied retroactively to our cruises since my husband has previously be verified.

Our friends, Military, were told to reapply as well.

Confused yet???

Curiouser & Curiouser

I’ll be calling this week.  Stay tuned.

Thank you everyone!

UPDATE

ALL classifications should be attached to your Mariners.  Emphasis on should.
Only one classification is applicable per cabin; per cruise

We have received OBC for the 28 day cruise under my Educators

We are awaiting OBC for the 14 Day cruise under First Responders or Educators.
Rep said it should be applied by this Friday.

Apparently HAL is doing a progressive & much needed upgrade to their site.

All this is very good to know.

Thanks again
