CruzeQueen2 Posted June 2, 2023 #26 Share Posted June 2, 2023 (edited) @Shippy how are you finding the bed? Several here are reporting old and lumpy matresses. That would be very disappointing! These are much more our style. Planning on packing Fluxx, Splendor, Unstable Unicorns, Carcassonne, and a few others if they will fit.

That would be very disappointing! We were….just got off the ship….in cabin R408. The bed was the best ever. Must have been a new mattress. And the linen were soft. BUT…was sad to her from the lady in the cabin next th us. She said her bed was horrible. The second day of the cruise, the crew brought up some kind of boards for more support. 1

Do you mean half the men were wearing tuxedos or do you mean they were wearing suits or jackets and ties. I’m going on an Alaskan cruise next month and it’s my first on Princess so I’d like to know how most people dress on formal nights.

Rare Shippy Posted June 3, 2023 Author #32 Share Posted June 3, 2023 FINAL THOUGHTS... I would say the cruise for us was a success. All crew extremely nice & helpful. Casino was good. My husband & I each got a hand pay ! His on the Wheel of Fortune. Mine on a strange looking Chinese machine with a $2.50 bet. Not to happy with Sabatini's, especially breakfast. But the main dining room was consistently good. Skywalker's on deck 18 was used for the Elite/Suite lounge. Snacks & service was great but the room was VERY cold. Buffet has great bread pudding everyday at lunch. Pizza at Slice was very good. Not thrilled with the Salty Dog grill. We bring Saran & baggies to keep treats from the buffet & International cafe fresh for midnight snacks :O) TV & Internet reception was great the whole time. You may have heard that the Alaska King crab season had been cancelled this year & last. SO, no crab on the ship. Not even in the pay restaurants. One of the people we met onboard said they went to a restaurant in one of the ports. They ordered crab for $65. each. AND, it was not good. He said it tasted like it had been frozen, certainly not fresh. 2

What it be out of place if I were to wear a nice shirt and dress pants without a tie or jacket on formal night? I’d rather not pack a jacket as suitcase space will be limited but want to dress respectfully and not stand out.

For some reason I think of Princess as being strict with their dress code but maybe that was in the past. Thanks!

Nightowl11 Posted June 4, 2023 #37 Share Posted June 4, 2023 Can you please do me a favor? What are the photo packages onboard? Can you buy all your digital downloads without buying the Premier drink package? Is there a package for unlimited digital downloads? Not just the 5 or 10? This is the king crab season "Golden King Crab can usually be caught throughout the year from the middle of February to the middle of June, while Red Alaskan King Crab season opens for only short windows in the fall from November through January." Any king crab that buy in a restaurant will be frozen. DON
