Wifi coverage in Alaska's inside Passage Cruise

Recommended Posts

Has anyone been on he Alaskan Lindblad Expedition Cruise between Sitka and Juneau? I'm trying to get a realistic understanding of Wi-Fi/ cellular coverage. We need to have decent connectivity (not all day) to take calls/ check email via VPN. My understanding is that there are some areas that have no service during parts of the cruise - usually for part of the day or a day max but otherwise the service is decent. I would love to hear from personal experience

It's not just the inside passage where wifi gets wonky or non-existent.  It can be anywhere in the state.  Near the cities it should be fine.  I use a VPN when I am not at home and it does slow things down.  Sitka and Juneau are great and there should not be a problem unless there is a pesky mountain in the way.  Usually someone on the crew will be able to say, "As soon as we get around that peak".....I doubt that it would be a whole day but it does depend where you are.
