Looking for a distraction to dream about far off lands like Africa?

I was looking at my recent Live From thread that I used to document our 38-day cruise last Nov/Dec from Athens to Cape Town by way of Dubai. If you need a distraction like I did from reading the various "stressed out" threads currently being posted on the Celebrity forum, check it out. Please ignore it was an NCL cruise, but rather focus on the awesome locations these B2B itineraries took us to.

You don't need to read the dialog and you won't find any food pictures. But if you want to just see what it's like in a part of the world most of us have only read about in the news, check it out. 😉

By the way if you have a Live From thread from one of your most favorite cruises you think others will enjoy looking at the pictures, please feel free to post it to this distraction thread! 😀

Some of the distractions include seeing the Valley of the Kings and Queens and cruising down the Nile in Luxor, visiting Petra in Jordan, a 4-hour private tour in Dubai, seeing lemurs in Madagascar, going on 3 safaris in South Africa, and visiting a colony of South African penguins coming back from visiting the Cape of Good Hope. 😀

Before Covid our cruises were to far off places -  Japan, Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, Dubai and the Suez Canal, Australia and New Zealand to name a few.  We saw places we would never have imagined visiting when we were young.  As long as the ship was comfortable and the food acceptable we were happy.  We mostly, but not exclusively cruised with Celebrity and have been satisfied with the product and have many wonderful memories.

Since Covid we have taken two less adventurous Celebrity cruises and although some things have changed, not surprisingly, we didn't find anything that would stop us cruising again.

Cruising can definitely become addicting that's for sure, and most cruises are not perfect. But for us cruising has become intertwined in our retirement lifestyle, and we try to book itineraries and cabin categories with certain cruise lines that can help minimize some of the potential negatives we've previously experienced in the past while at the same time providing an awesome itinerary! That's why we currently book most of our cruises with Celebrity and Princess, and on special occasion with NCL like with this 38-day itinerary. 🙂
