cruisecookie Posted June 5, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2023 What type of European outlet is in Celebrity staterooms? What kind of adapter will I need if I want to use that outlet for my American electronics? Will I also need a converter?
Rare prmssk Posted June 5, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2023 This is what we bought. We do not use a converter because we are using it on electronics that can handle either 110 V or 220 V, like iPhones and MacBooks. Check your devices to see what they can handle. For example, some US hair dryers and curling irons, especially older ones may require a converter.
Rare markeb Posted June 6, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 6, 2023 It's a Type E/F outlet. I wouldn't use the adapter posted. Actually I can't believe anyone sells an ungrounded Type C adapter with grounded US outlets! That's insane! Your US outlets are no longer grounded with that arrangement. And adding an electric load with the extra outlets is highly questionable and generally unnecessary. Sorry prmssk, but that does not look like a safe adapter in the least! And those are going to be low powered 12 W USB A outlets. Very slow for any modern USB devices, which are rapidly going to USB C anyway. Type C outlets are used in most of Europe, but they're ungrounded by design. Germany and France use E/F. You can plug a Type C plug into an E/F outlet, but you'll lose the ground. cublet Posted June 17, 2023 #5 Share Posted June 17, 2023 Hello, The answer(s) depend on ship and class of cabin. For Silhouette class up to, excluding, suite, there is one Euro socket and 2 US sockets. They are close together and anything 'chunky' might foul use of other sockets. Regards, Cublet
