Suite Upgrade at McKinley Chalet Resort Denali

I keep getting emails from HAL offering an upgrade to a suite room at the McKinley Chalet during our cruisetour later this month. Has anyone done the upgrade to the suite there and is it worth it? TIA

I did not but the room was plenty nice and large. We were housed in the new building.  There are also plenty of outside, communal sitting areas with fire pits.   You will not be spending much time in that room.

We tried starting the day we got the 1st email, but was told there weren't any available. 

So at 1st I just shrugged it off thinking it was capacity controlled and they probably went quickly.

But I kept getting the emails so called a couple more times and every time was told they were gone. Hmmm

After getting there, I was glad we didn't do it - the room was plenty big, view was nice and time inside was spent sleeping.

We've been getting the same emails. My daughter and family opted for the suites weeks ago as they had unused credits which we did not.  Are the suites and the regular rooms in the same vicinity??

The property has many buildings; I believe the suites are concentrated in a few. In any case, rooms can be separated by quite a distance. There is a shuttle that circles the property frequently, as well as walking paths that connect everything. It is a beautiful place...

I loved our “basic” room. Lovely walking areas. Outside meeting areas. Some with fires. We slept and showered there, but little else. 
 

I would not bother.

We were tempted but at $100 per person per night, it seemed a bit steep considering there were three of us. The regular room we got was fine enough though with some problems (broken window latch, missing towel).
