saleaaway Posted June 11, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2023 We are on the Dawn next year and our trip ends in Southampton. we asked for an air deviation of two days so we can see London. Does anyone know if NCL flies out of Southampton back to the States or will they fly us out of Heathrow or one of the other London airports? We are thinking of doing our own hotels but are a bit concerned about what city to book them in. thanks in advance

Travelgrrl Posted June 11, 2023 #4 Share Posted June 11, 2023 Make arrangements to stay in London. Get off the ship, take a cab to the bus station. There are busses to London Heathrow from Southampton, and likely ones to central London too. The NCL air will likely go from LHR to your home so you'll have to get yourself back to the airport after your couple of days in London. Easy! Greener123 Posted June 11, 2023 #5 Share Posted June 11, 2023 Train station is a short-ish walk from the cruise terminal NCL use. There’ll be frequent direct trains to London Waterloo. flights across the pond will pretty much only be from Heathrow or Gatwick - unless you get really unlucky and they book you on a strange route via another European hub - Southampton would only be via Amsterdam or Paris realistically which is unlikely

Yes, there are National Express buses from Southampton to London Victoria. Journey about 2.5 hours. I'd book in advance though, as services can get very busy.
Rare insidecabin Posted June 12, 2023 #7 Share Posted June 12, 2023 For central London the train is often the better option(much quicker) The coach and train are different areas so hotel choice may make coach better. For LHR the National Express(NE) coach(there is no direct train) its a long way away, hope the train strikes are resolved. Currently NCL uses Horizon terminal easy to get to both the train and NE stations
julig22 Posted June 12, 2023 #8 Share Posted June 12, 2023 They will probably fly you out of Heathrow but sometimes use Gatwick. In the past, NCL has offered post-cruise excursions that would drop you off in London if you aren't going to the airport.
