Is this a good plan for Hiroshima

Hi I’m looking to do Hiroshima from a southern Japan cruise next March. We overnight in Osaka docking at 12 midday on the Monday leaving at 6pm on the Tuesday. I was thinking get bullet train to Hiroshima from Osaka 1pm ish on the Monday. Stay overnight in Hiroshima then bullet train it back early Tuesday afternoon. Any thoughts on if this would work or is even a good idea. If I don’t do it from the ship I will have 2 nights in Osaka so could do from there if that’s a better idea.

I think that plan will work, we stayed at a hotel Granvia  right at the train station so that was easy.   It is also worth a visit to Miyajima late in the day.  
 

Not sure what you mean about the two nights in Osaka?   If that means less of a rush,  we spent two nights in Hiroshima and that worked well for us.
