How is the loading and departing process at Charleston cruise port

Is there a lot of walking involved after parking - wife in her 70s has some knee issues (doesn't need wheelchair) - thinking OK since not dragging luggage.

However if far walk will be concerned about getting back to car with luggage 

Is there a place she could wait with luggage for me to get car and pick her up - we don't have handicapped car sticker

After you go through customs you go through o another area to pick up luggage but you gcan get luggage and wife and go get the car and pick her up easily enough

They have a lot of handicapped parking and shuttle golf carts in the parking lot. Then you walk through a building the size of a warehouse to the end where shuttles take you to the ship. You drop your luggage as you enter the parking or at your drop off
