Hotels in New Orleans for Conquest

Hey everyone!

 

We're going on our second cruise in July. This one will be on Conquest. Our previous cruise was on Jubliee in July, 2003.

 

Does anyone have any recommendations for hotels to stay in that are close the the port in New Orleans?

The Hilton Riverside is closest. If you're driving, you should check in to their cruise special which includes 7 days of parking for $99.

 

There are lots of other hotels fairly close, though. Anything in the Central Business District or French Quarter is fairly convenient. If you look for information about distance to the Riverwalk, that's a good indicator because the port is right next to that.

If you are in the Quarter, you just can't go wrong!!

 

Last time we stayed at the Hilton Riverside, which was fantastic! It was connected to the Riverwalk Mall, and still very close to the Quarter. We got a great deal on the Hilton by using the Harrahs website, but you can also try your luck on priceline. Make sure to research biddingfortravel before bidding on priceline.

Harrahs puts us up at the W Hotel when we are in New Orleans. It is minutes away from the dock. I dont know if they let you keep your vehicle parked there while cruising however. This Hotel is very nice with great restaurants and lounges.

The Hilton Riverside is a great place to stay, if you can get a room and get it at a decent price. Some times they are booked solid. Other times you can not get a decent rate. Springhill Suites and Embassy Suites are also good places to stay close to the pier. Anything in the French Quarter would also be fantastic. At least visit the area. Experience of a lifetime.

We have sailed out of NO many times; it is our port of choice.

 

We have stayed in FQ, we have stayed in Garden District. Our favorite location is the CBD Central Business District. Close to Pier, walking distance to FQ.

 

So far ..

Radison Suites (now Embassy Suites) 3 times

Hilton 2 times

Ambassador Hotel 1 time

Hampton Inn Convention Center.

 

For our 3/27/05 cruise, we have a suite booked at the Embassy Suites. It is not cheap ($144.00) easter weekend for 2 adults and 17 year old. BUT it includes a fantastic breakfast for all 3.

 

Can't wait!!

Sailed Conquest last year. Stayed 2 nights at Courtyard by Marriot. Very reasonable rates and walking distance to FQ and close to port. Enjoyed our stay very much.
