Cruisegoer Posted March 27, 2006 #54 Share Posted March 27, 2006 I believe she is scheduled to leave drydock on 3/29 (Wednesday) so they can do testing and pass inspection for the repairs. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
mkdawnt Posted March 27, 2006 #55 Share Posted March 27, 2006 Has it ever happened when a ship doesnt complete dry dock and have to cancel a cruise that is booked with guests? I am getting a little nervous now!!!!!
Cruisegoer Posted March 27, 2006 #56 Share Posted March 27, 2006 Of course it could happen, nothing is foolproof. I am hoping NCL crossed all t's and dotted all i's before they began repairs though so that the Star is out on time. You have to realize they had time to plan for the repair and order parts, they also calculated what revenue's they would be losing during the drydocking...the last thing they want is to have to cancel another sailing. I am cautiously optomistic but I realize anything could happen.

Cruisegoer Posted March 28, 2006 #63 Share Posted March 28, 2006 Though I am unsure whether the Azipod repair looks complete. Still hoping for the best while fearing the worst.
intrepid_guy Posted March 28, 2006 #64 Share Posted March 28, 2006 Is it me, or does the STAR's star pattern look different? Other than the vibrancy of the colors! ~Intrepid

7SeasLover Posted March 29, 2006 #68 Share Posted March 29, 2006 Makes me sad to see her drydocked. She belongs on the sea! Soon!
marcyjane Posted March 29, 2006 #69 Share Posted March 29, 2006 Thanks for the photo link. I noticed after a long look at the photo's that correct me if I'm wrong I don't see the life boats, may they are giving them a paint job as well. Will be on Star in May Seattle to Alaska. Thanks, Marcy:)
electricron Posted March 29, 2006 #70 Share Posted March 29, 2006 They are repainting the ship and it makes sense they would remove the lifeboats to make the job easier, as many less things to mask.
judyf Posted March 29, 2006 #71 Share Posted March 29, 2006 Okay it's Wednesday, did she get it the water yet? When I check the cam it states Mon 3/27.
jerhardt Posted March 29, 2006 #72 Share Posted March 29, 2006 Just checked the cam, and the date is Mar 29 and it still looks as if she's in drydock.
Cruisegoer Posted March 29, 2006 #73 Share Posted March 29, 2006 Funny I just looked at the cam, 2:38 EST on 3/29/06 and it still says the last update was Tues, Mar 28 at 8:12:47. I guess you have a better cam then the rest!
