Grand Turk ????

Off of the Crown Princess on the maiden voyage in mid-june. A few questions for anyone who knows

 

• good operator I can book on my own, preferably picked up at teh pier
  
• what kind of critters
  
• likely quality sites within reasonable boat distance I could specify a preference for.
  
• water temp/suit recommendation
  
• any specific local hints (like am is better, or tide in is better)

Bassethound, what port are you pulling into with that cruise? The Turks is known for a spectacular wall dive (North). As for critters, from small to Humpbacks have been spotted. A lot of sites can be accessed within 15-20 minute boat ride. I wear a 5mm and I get strange comments, 3mm shortie seems standard. You can use most anybody. Turk diving is about 100 dollars for 2 tanks as the tourist goes. Try emailing ci@tciway.tc , Cecil charges less and gives you a little more. He is also a Naui Course Director and Padi Master Inst. and is a native to the island. He does have a dive operation but email him first to see if he is what you want.
