2010megashopper Posted July 9, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2023 What’s the latest time you can disembark your cruise in Rome? I’m due to cruise on Divina this month and my flight isn’t until 4pm. I’m in yacht club with diamond status, so I know that means I can stay in my room until 9am. However could I stay on board until 12?
CruisingFox27 Posted July 9, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2023 We didn't disembark our April sailing until 12pm. We were in Malaga. But, assuming you're on a multi embarkation sailing, it'll be fine. If you're YC, advise your butler that you intend to stay until 12pm, they'll arrange storage of your cabin bag and escort you when you're ready to disembark.
Rare Best Cat Mom Posted July 9, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 9, 2023 We were disembarking in Genoa for one cruise and our hotel check in was 3pm. There was not problem staying in YC until around 2pm. Breakfast, lunch, drinks -- all were available until we left. The concierge kept our luggage until we decided to leave. 1

We are not flying out until the next morning and hoping to stay on the ship through lunch. We are YC and Diamond. Trying to pick a time for transport to the hotel. I guess we won’t know for sure until we are on the ship if the current staff will allow late departure?
Rare Best Cat Mom Posted July 12, 2023 #5 Share Posted July 12, 2023 We did not know if staying later was even a possibility. We couldn't fly out of Genoa the day of disembarkation (due to personal constraints) so we booked a hotel for that night and a flight the following day. When we were onboard, we asked the YC concierge the day before we were supposed to disembark and were pleasantly surprised to discover that we could stay so late. I would imagine that factors like what time they leave a port would influence how late a party could stay on board. For us, they were so generous and kinda said "of course you can stay." This benefit of staying onboard so late made us quite happy about how MSC handles all the embarking and disembarking at the various ports in the Mediterranean.
stuart2468 Posted July 13, 2023 #6 Share Posted July 13, 2023 This is really interesting. I asked this very question yesterday and was met with a stern no, you'll have staff looking for you if you do, which creates more work for them. As such i've opted to go for a mini cruise that arrives in barcelona at 1pm, meaning staying much later wont be necessary.

In YC? It's quite easy to keep track of people in YC.

You don't have the nice YC to hang out but there are spots we are often late out of the cabin and hang out in the buffet with a late breakfast.. In our experience MSC don't really organise that well they are happy to let big lines of people of those rushing to get off early they don't monitor any timed numbers/colours. We always wait for the crowd to clear then think abut getting off.
