Can I get away without buying Turkish Lire for a one day stop?

One day in Istanbul and we’re planning on doing nothing much more than stroll around the Galata side of life… (been to & ‘done’ Istanbul before…)…

 

Question is; can I get away with using a CC or Apple Pay and/or €uros?

 

Don’t really want to buy just a few Lire for coffees / lunch etc!

When we were in Istanbul over 10 years ago, restaurants take CC, small vendors takes everything - Euros, dollars...
