Wayfairers Posted July 18, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2023 Anyone spent a day wandering around Naha? We are booking a tour out of town for one day on our overnight stop and thinking of doing something in town on our own the other day. Any suggestions or tips? Lady Anna & Sir Troy Posted July 30, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 30, 2023 Would love to hear on this topic too! So far I am considering visiting Naminoue Shrine/Beach and Fukushuen Park, both walkable within 15 minutes of the cruise port. Another 15 minutes away from Fukushuen Park is Shikinaen Park and Kokusai Dori Market/Street.
ROCruiser Posted August 6, 2023 #3 Share Posted August 6, 2023 We've been to Naha three times. The first time we chartered a private bus on our family reunion cruise because my 90 year FIL was with us. We went to Naminoue Shrine/Beach and Fukushuen Park on the 2nd and 3rd visits. Here is a video of our visit in March 2023 and this was from 2019.
Eliot Ness Posted August 12, 2023 #4 Share Posted August 12, 2023 I'm pretty late to this thread, but I was stationed at NAHA Air Base for a few months in 1971. I remember one of our favorite meals was getting a plate of taco's at a restaurant called George's. To my surprise, after doing a Google search, the restaurant is still there, but in a new building. Our ship stops there in October so we'll hop in a cab and head to George's. Hopefully the area around it will still have some shops and clubs.
