Luv Cruising Land or Sea Posted March 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2006 We are first time cruisers heading out on the Golden Princess on April 1 - we are really getting excited - this is our 30th anniversary and our first time away "alone" in over 28 years (okay so there will be approx 2698 other people on the ship....) Having always traveled with family and friends we are used to having someone available to "guard" our stuff while we snorkel - what do people do with their boarding pass, id's, etc. Is it safe to leave them in your beach bag?
tex_toby Posted March 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 15, 2006 http://www.aquapac.net/dotcom/ The "keymaster case" worked flawlessly for me...
Sheffie Posted March 16, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 16, 2006 We got our waterwallet at a dive shop, but they sell them on the ships. (My daughter got one on the Caribbean Princess.) They also have one here on CC! http://www.cruisecritic.com/store/product.cfm?ID=26 Do not leave ID, etc. in your bag. You will be stressing the whole time you are in the water! Mncadguy Posted March 17, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 17, 2006 If your swimsuit has pockets with zippers. Just pack a ziplock type bag. Put your things in there and put into your pocket. I am going to try it while swimming with the rays in Grand Cayman.
Nik Posted March 26, 2006 #5 Share Posted March 26, 2006 I just picked up a new waterproof "bag" at Walmart yesterday. They are new and there are two styles. One is a waste pouch (bum pack) or the string around the neck thingy. I tried mine out in the sink and it works good. The other plastic things noted by the others are okay, but are hard plastic and the sometimes leak. I have a few of those and always use a ziplock bag in them. These that I found yesterday a little bigger. I'll try it out and you know how they work. We are cruising April 8 on the Triumph, so you can look for my review there. jee Posted March 30, 2006 #6 Share Posted March 30, 2006 Went looking for the waterproof pouch/bag but what a surprise, I couldn't find it and couldn't find anyone to ask. Do you recall which department you found the pouch in? Thanks
Luv Cruising Land or Sea Posted March 30, 2006 Author #7 Share Posted March 30, 2006 these things are usually in the sporting goods section - do you have an REI or EMS near you - they have them in the Kayaking Dept or according to an earlier post you may be able to buy one on board. Good luck!
chris sea Posted March 30, 2006 #8 Share Posted March 30, 2006 They do sell the water wallet that goes around your neck on Princess , But, the Golden Princess ran out of them last year on our S.Carib cruise. So to be safe, I would try to get one beforehand.just in case. Have a great trip. The Golden is a nice ship:)

woohoo4ue Posted March 30, 2006 #10 Share Posted March 30, 2006 I bought this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4622978787&category=31280 off of ebay after a fellow CC member suggested it. I tried it out in the sink, and it seems to work really well. Have fun!
