Venice port?

Is Seabourn Encore using the Marghera port now? (We are docking there, mid-cruise, in October.) Please share recent Venice port experiences, good and bad!

Facebook posts and other Cruise Critic posts stated that Seabourn vessels will dock in Fusina.

Thanks Vineyard View. How was your experience getting to and from Venice from the port? Although we are hitting Venice as a port of call, not starting or ending there, so it may be different.

I believe that you will not have to go through the old cruise terminal as we had to. They will likely take you to Piazzale Roma, where you can walk, take a public water shuttle, or private water taxi. You cannot drive any further into Venice from that point. Bus time to the old cruise terminal was 30 min. I have heard that to the bus terminal it is a bit less than that. 
Mayne someone who has had this as a port day rather than embarkation/departure location can confirm, but I do believe this is likely accurate. Maybe go to ports of call section on CC and ask as the rules of engagement for Fusina are not cruise line controlled, but Port Authority controlled.

That is great to know!  So much better than having to take the bus as we did, as ours was not a port stop. Even with the bus, I would take that over the outlier ports other lines are docking at for Venice.
