Telephones around the ship?

Someone mentioned a good way for families to keep in touch is to use voice mail on the cabin phones. Does that mean that telephones are easily accessible around the ship? ( i.e. Camp Carnival, the pool area, etc.)

We found the best way to keep in touch is the two-way radios! As long as they are not up really loud and bother other people! We used them on the Liberty and was able to contact my kids anytime and anywhere they were.
