Cruise to Alaska

Recommended Posts

I want to go on a cruise to Alaska, but my best friend who likes going to places where it's warm said it's too cold.

I need some help to convince her to go.

Any advise?

Thanks.

where do you live now? if you go in the summer months july, august it will be summer there and can get just as warm as in the states. some people associate all of alaska to the northpole. this is not the case. when i went to the inside passage, glacier bay, junea, skagway and ketchikan last sept the weather was perfect. i only wore a sweatshirt and in the glacier bay i had a lightweight nylon jacket on. you might have a little rain in ketchikan but other than that the sun was shining and i was fine. please dont miss going to alaska if you can help it. go to ports of call, choose alaska and all of your questions will be answered. and talk your friend into going .

It's not really that cold in Alaska.. mid 60s lots of days and some in 70s... no igloos either Don't go in early May or mid-Sept.. that's when it will be the coolest if that is what you are concerned about. I'm hosting an "official" Cruise Critic group to Alaska next summer with some warm weather people already on onboard. Rates should be out this week.. Just keep checking the Alaska and Group Boards... love to have you join us!

Sugarplum...when you first click into Cruise Critics...then you'd ususally click onto the 'boards' to find the 'topic' group that you are interested in...well way down towards the bottom of the 'boards' page you will see one for "Ports of Call' and within that you can look up topics of discussion about various ports of calls...there is one for Alaska that you can click onto to get or give information about many things pertaining to Alaska. Hope this helps to answer some of your questions about Alaska. And GO if you get the chance...we were there for 16 days last time and it was totally awesome! We will be in Anchorage again for a few days the end of August before we board the CCL Spirit southbound from Whittier to Vancouver on Sept. 1!
Happy sailing!
