Any reason to insure cost of refundable airfare?

As background, before covid we never purchased travel insurance for our cruises even though we book very expensive suites...we thought we could live with the financial risk and we have excellent worldwide medical coverage.  Since covid, we have been purchasing it and it does give us some extra peace of mind, and we do like the emergency medical evacuation coverage which can be a huge expense.  To determine our coverage amount we have been simply adding the cost of the cruise plus the cost of the non-refundable airfare.  We have left off any non-refundable shore excursions, hotels, etc. since this is a relatively small amount for us.

Now for our next cruise we are flying Delta business class to South America and apparently all of these fares are fully refundable up to the minute the flight departs at no extra charge to the price.  I wish all airlines had this policy.  So now we are thinking there is no reason to include the cost of airfare in our travel insurance and we really only need to purchase coverage for the cost of the cruise.  If we need to cancel the cruise, we can separately cancel our flights and receive a refund from Delta.  Is there anything we are missing in our thinking here?
