Piaa Posted August 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2023 So for all of you frequent visitors, might anyone know the approx cost of a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Rose in Tahiti (I assume it is available) or would it be best to purchase a few bottles at LAX at duty free (if they have it) Thanks everyone
sita Posted August 20, 2023 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2023 Don’t know if available but wanted to comment that French wine is about the only reasonably priced item we’ve found in the supermarkets. Oh and French bread but suspect that is subsidized by government. Eggs are a dollar EACH and local beer 12 per six pack.

oakridger Posted August 21, 2023 #4 Share Posted August 21, 2023 Thanks @sita. I'll be staying in Moorea in a house for a week between cruises and will be buying some groceries as I don't want to eat all meals at restaurants. I will get breakfast items so it's interesting to hear about the egg prices. 😮 I'll guess that small grocery shops sell their own chicken eggs. It's still less expensive than a $25 breakfast in some of the shoreside restaurants!! @Piaa Veuve Clicquot is my favorite champagne but haven't tried the Rosé. You have given me an idea! I'm so excited about this trip! ~Nancy

Piaa Posted August 21, 2023 Author #6 Share Posted August 21, 2023 @oakridger - if you haven't tried the Veuve Clicquot Rose Rich give it a try - it is very different. Pour over ice in a wine glass and serve with fruit, tea, vegetables or spices (I only use pineapple, raspberries or strawberries I can't come to try red peppers or ginger etc 😂) .. very different and very good (I have only had the Rose Rich) .. https://www.veuveclicquot.com/en-us/our-champagne/rich-collection
Cruisedreamer1 Posted August 25, 2023 #7 Share Posted August 25, 2023 Your choice got me wondering about pricing. Our Costco has it for $69 a bottle and our grocery store Vons/Safeway/Albertsons has it for $79. I need to try it. I like their regular champagne.
