HAL digital gift card

I have the option to get a $200.00 Holland America Line digital gift card from my credit card points.  Has anyone done this and are there limits on what they can and can’t be used for?

Welcome to Cruise Critic! Gift cards are pretty easy to use, and can be used for most things. If booking something on the website, in addition to using a credit card there is an option to use a gift card. Similarly onboard the gift card can be used.

They can be used for everything onboard.  Precruise you cannot use them for gratuities but you can buy OBC.  AARP offers them at a 10% discount so if you are not getting that much use your points elsewhere.
