Nippy Sweetie Posted March 29 #51 Share Posted March 29 @CDNPolar I'm glad you were OK. We certainly won't be doing that particular cruise until the Russians have withdrawn completely from Ukraine. That won't be soon I sadly suspect.

We have a lot of Ukrainians refugees here so it's a very point. Otherwise I've been to Budapest a few times. I'm surprised that nobody so far seems to have visited the famous Gellert baths. That is a fabulous experience. So beautiful and so unusual. Highly recommended. We did this in the fall of 2022... and extended over into Poland. We did not feel any anxiety over travelling there (we were in both Krakow & Warsaw - so fairly close to the Ukraine...). It was interesting to speak with people living in Poland. The war has impacted tourism - so they were very happy to have us visit!! We did learn that there are many people who do support the Russian offensive, so we were careful when discussing the situation... Fran
Nippy Sweetie Posted March 30 #53 Share Posted March 30 It's hard to believe anyone could support the Russian offensive. I know Poland is very worried about the situation. Donald Tusk was talking about this in TV this week.
