Galveston B2B do you stay on the nice quiet almost empty ship or get off and explore?

We leave Sunday 9/17 for our first B2B on the Allure and trying to decided what to do on Sunday 9/24.  We tried a short B2B in Jan on the Adventure 4nt/5nt and on turnaround day did not go out and explore we just walked around the ship and relaxed.  This time our B2B is 7nt/7nt so thinking of getting off in Galveston on turnaround day to maybe eat breakfast or lunch and walk around a bit.  We are parking in the North Lot right there at the new RCCL Terminal so will have our vehicle but not sure we want to hassle with parking it again.  Has anyone walked from the ship to nearby places to eat or shop or do you take your vehicle then park it agin or use Uber?  What are your favorite places to eat, shop or explore if getting off during your B2B?  Also if getting off is there a "fast lane" when getting back on since we will already have our transit cards?  Thanks for any input!
