BillB48 Posted March 19, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2006 To a degree it depends on which side of the Isthmus you'll be on, Colon, (Atlantic) or Panama City, (Pacific). The Atlantic side is much wetter than the Pacific side and showers can occur nearly any time of the day. The good news is that usually these are not all day toad choking rains but localized intermittent type showers. On the Pacific side shower activity is more apt to occur about mid afternoon, so if you can plan the bulk of your activities by that time, you should not be hampered by the weather. On the Pacific side usually the rains are not covering broad areas and normally pass by quickly as they do on the Atlantic side. The Atlantic side can get almost twice the rainfall in a years time than the Pacific side. Having said all this please bear in mind that there can be all day, everywhere you go, nothing but rain! Fortunately these days are the exception and not the rule. Rainy season runs from about May to the middle of December. Stay Dry!
flashdog_1 Posted March 21, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 21, 2006 The Caribbean (Atlantic) side is located in a rain forest, so expect rain or drizzle any time in Colon and in the canal, especially during rainy season.
