New Year's Eve Day at St. Johns, Antigua and Barbuda

We will be at St. Johns, Antigua and Barbuda on New Year's Eve Day.  I'm wondering how the holiday might affect things being open.

We plan to take it easy that day so we aren't looking for much.  We are going to sleep in or take an afternoon nap or both to fuel up on rest for the late night party. But we do want to get off the ship for a couple of hours and just explore St. Johns on our own.

We are thinking to walk to St. John's Cathedral, followed by the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda, and finally hit Redcliffe Quay for Lunch and maybe a little shopping.

Is there any reason to think that the holiday is going to affect these plans?

Do you have any other information for others who might have different plans?

Thanks, Laura
