Monkeyland vs Damajagua waterfalls

I'll be in DR on Oct 17 from MSC Seascape with my two daughters, the youngest is 15. I did the Damajagua waterfalls a few years ago (my daughters were not there), and I think they would like it and the adventure would be good for them. I also know they would like Monkeyland. (Do they have parrots at Monkeyland? One of my daughters wants a picture with a parrot). I'm a bit torn on which of these two excursions to do. Has anyone done both? What do you recommend? I wish they had a monkeyland in Nassau, Bahamas, since I'm trying to keep costs down, and I'm thinking we'll just go to the beach, which will be the same activity as the next day at Ocean Cay.
