Scotsrich Posted October 8, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2023 Most cruises I’ve been on tend to have sales near the end of the cruise. i see Virgin don’t have a large shopping area but is it worth waiting till later on?
raphael360 Posted October 8, 2023 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2023 Short answer: No - not on the 4 or 5-day cruises I've been on. Long answer: I did bag a few "closeout" or "last season apparel" items in the 2 logo shops onboard at a discount. But those items didn't get more discounted towards the end of the cruise. Unlike the other big box cruises I've been on that spill out "newly discounted items" towards the end of the cruise in an attempt to drain the last nickel and dime out of our pockets before we disembark, VV just sells what it sells.
jon81uk Posted October 8, 2023 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2023 No, if items are reduced it’s just on the Virgin Voyages branded stuff really and it’s seasonal not per journey.
_tacocat_ Posted October 8, 2023 #4 Share Posted October 8, 2023 They still seem to have stuff they’re trying to offload from their original merch line. I just got off scarlet, and they had a TON of the shirts in various bright colors that said “ahoy” and had sailors or parrots whatever on them for $15
Rare cantgetin Posted October 8, 2023 #5 Share Posted October 8, 2023 We found that sale merch was on sale from the beginning to end of cruise and didn't change. No, not like lines that put out the $5 t shirts near the end....
