newbie202020 Posted October 12, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2023 I understand that the QE doesn't have connecting cabins. Cunard advised that we can request with the room steward that the balcony barriers be removed between our 2 cabins once we get onboard. Has anyone had any success/issues with this request? It's important that I'm able to do this as I need to be close to my elderly parents. I understand that it needs to meet safety standards if we're in rough seas but we're going to Alaska next July so not expecting bad weather. We were able to do this on Celebrity, also to Alaska in July. Thanks
alibabacruisers Posted October 12, 2023 #2 Share Posted October 12, 2023 I had friends that did just that, spoke to the steward and request granted.
Chart Room Princess Posted October 12, 2023 #3 Share Posted October 12, 2023 We do this all the time on Cunard. Just ask your cabin steward as soon as you meet them. It is a very simple process. All the steward needs is a simple key to unlock the balcony door separating the 2 balconies. 2
david,Mississauga Posted October 14, 2023 #4 Share Posted October 14, 2023 The actual partition is not removed. It is the narrow door that is opened. We have done this on the QM2 and the QE. Alaska was specifically mentioned in the first posting. We have had this done on the QE in Britannia and Princess Grill. It worked well on the Alaska cruises as the weather was never fierce, just some rain from time to time. 1
