brakbrak Posted November 21, 2023 #1 Share Posted November 21, 2023 I am cruising with my girlfriend and we have received $900 OBC to use on the cruise. We typically pay our own items since we are not married yet, and don't have shared finances. We'd like to spend the $900 solely on drinks, food, and the such. How can I avoid my gambling (typically spend $700-800) from digging into her half of the OBC? Obviously the first $450 I spend will be "my half" of the OBC, but what about after? Can I take cash to the cashier and have them put it into my casino wallet and bypass the OBC completely? Sorry if this is an amateur question, we've never cruised (3 times before) with OBC.
n6uqqq Posted November 21, 2023 #2 Share Posted November 21, 2023 With separate sail and sign accounts Carnival will split the obc in two so you each get half.
john91498 Posted November 21, 2023 #3 Share Posted November 21, 2023 When we sail, the OBC we get is split between the occupants. when we sail with our kids, the OBC is split between all of us. So, you should have $450 and she should have $450.

Very nice, that will make it easy for any charges past the OBC too. Thanks for the reply!

The only credit I know that doesn't get split is the shareholder benefit OBC.
nascartim Posted November 22, 2023 #6 Share Posted November 22, 2023 Unfortunately anything you charge to your s&s card will get charged on your acct and will eat into the $450. So if you don't want your gambling to have any affect on that first 450 amount, use cash in a slot machine and build up credit on your s&s card, and only take money out of your "players bank". Once you've gotten past your 450 quota then the rest just gets charged on your credit acct.
