Dizzkitty Posted December 7, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 7, 2023 Hello! It’s been right before the pandemic since our last cruise and don’t recall having to choose a time to arrive for check in. We are sailing with some friends out of San Juan on Viva in The Haven on the 15th. Our friends got a check in time of 1:30pm and we got a check in time of 4:30pm. I got an email that embarkation starts at 12pm and to not show up before tour assigned check in time. Do we really have to wait until 4:30 to show up while our friends go at 1:30?? We never had this situation on our past Haven cruises. Thanks for any help!
calcruiser64 Posted December 7, 2023 #2 Share Posted December 7, 2023 We sailed from San Juan in Epic's Haven in April. We showed up earlier than our scheduled check-in time and were immediately escorted to a dedicated Haven security line and waiting area. Received friendly and great treatment from the terminal staff, and boarded as soon as the ship was cleared. At that time, the entrance for Haven guests was at the far right of the terminal building.
Rare wolft927 Posted December 7, 2023 #3 Share Posted December 7, 2023 Haven Guests can show up whenever you like. I am not familiar with San Juan Terminal but most Terminals will have a separate check in as well some even have a separate entrance to the terminal .
Rare cruiseny4life Posted December 7, 2023 #4 Share Posted December 7, 2023 I've shown up early in Manhattan, Miami, and Barcelona. Once port employees see/hear Haven, they welcome us and we're shown directly to security. You should be fine in San Juan too!
Dizzkitty Posted December 7, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted December 7, 2023 Thanks all for the replies. I was hoping that would be the case, which is what we have done on previous Haven cruises but I just don't remember ever having a specific time assigned checking in and all correspondence from them telling me not to show up until that time or I will be turned away. It's a little off putting after paying so much, I wonder why they wouldn't just say Haven can come as you please. They advertise priority embarkation as part of the amenities but contradicts it in the boarding docs/emails. We will show up earlier than our assigned time and hope for the best!
