Sail and sign on tv?

I read something about your account balance being on the tv in your room so you can check your purchases. Is this true?

Yes.. just a note..as this caught us off guard at first.. if you have 2 numbers under one acct.. you will see double charges.. but the charges on the card with the CC # or cash on it .. is the true balance..;) The other is just an itemized list of what the other person charged:D

On the Fantasy class ships it is printed out for you and put under your door for you to check.

On the Miracle it was so easy to just check on tv. You could also check menus, book excursions...

It comes in handy in the mornings when you can't remember why you feel so bad. You just look up the account on the TV and there is the reason: each individual charge shows on the screen, so there is no denying how much you had to drink.

Yes, on the newer ships it is a great feature. Eliminates "sticker shock" on the last day of the cruise. On one cruise my gf and I were on, the pages looked like a novel !!!

The sign and sail card what a wonderful invention!! We would buy a drink and go back to the room on the Miracle and he would check it and sure enough it was already posted. I'm glad he didn't think to use this as a method of finding me.(I didn't use my sail and sign in the casino)pscrapper:D

Yup, you can check your S&S balance, and see an itemized list of your purchases on the TV in your cabin. All ya have to do is find the right channel from the main menu, and then enter your folio # (found on your S&S card.

As mentioned above, this helps with not having "sticker shock" on the last day of your cruise.

Also, if you see any charges here that are not yours, it gives you time to resolve them BEFORE disembarking.

(I say this only because I once ordered a glass of wine with my dinner, gave the cocktail waitress my card, she brought my wine, but never returned my card. I didn't even realize this until later that night while in the casino, so since I couldn't get into my cabin, I went to the pursers desk to explain the situation, and get a replacement card so I could at least get into my cabin at the end of the night.

The next morning, I turned my TV on to check my balance , and found that whomever it was that the waitress gave my card back to by mistake had decided to have a little "fun" with it! (to the tune of about $500.00!!) There were charges from the gift shop, several bottles of wine purchased, etc.

I immediately went back to the pursers desk to let him know what I was seeing on my TV statement, and fortunately he was able to have the charges removed BEFORE I disembarked:-)

I can't imagine trying to resolve something like this once you've gotten home!

There is no account stuff or shore excursion booking on the TV's on Destiny, definitely missed it!!!

When my DW and I cruised the Destiny back in '99 we could look at our accounts on the TV, can't understand why that would of changed. I know we could view excursions on TV but don't don't recall if we could book them as well.

As Annie has said sometimes you end up with charges that aren't yours. Unfortunately the charges on hers were made by some "bad people". So keep an eye on it anyway - we had charges only one time that didn't belong to us (likely the waiter miswrote the folio #) and the purser's desk investigated and wrote off the charges.

Enjoy your cruise!!:) :)

Wow, you were lucky. I imagine it would have been difficult to handle after the fact. Since they supposedly have cameras everywhere, I wonder if they found the person who did it?

I use it to track down my wife on the ship.

Mark

That is just brilliant...............You are quite smart to even think of that. I will have to use it next year to track down my husband.
