hstrybuf Posted June 11, 2004 #26 Share Posted June 11, 2004 Emme, I'm sorry that the smoking was so bad for you on the Legend cruise. We were on her in April and as smokers, never even considered lighting up in areas that were designated non-smoking. People on our particular sailing seemed to be more considerate and for the most part, followed the guidelines. ckpan, unless you're booked on the Paradise, you take your chances of having smokers next door. The best you can hope for is to politely work out a compromise for both parties. And trust me, if you go at them with guns blazing, they may ignore your request completely. airgirl Posted June 12, 2004 #27 Share Posted June 12, 2004 I think its a step in the right direction for non-smoking ships such as the Paradise. Perhaps there should be one more of these kinds of ships, one to cruise out of a large port like NY as well. That way people can have a choice. maria stallings
hstrybuf Posted June 12, 2004 #28 Share Posted June 12, 2004 Unfortunately for non-smokers, the Paradise is one of a kind and not for much longer at that. tef43 Posted November 9, 2004 #29 Share Posted November 9, 2004 I told them that they are accomodating to people who do not want to be around kids by giving them a pool to themselves Too bad that the cruiseline won't enforce it however.
L2J Posted November 9, 2004 #30 Share Posted November 9, 2004 We were so upset by all the smoke we actually talked about disembarktation. If it was that bad you should have taken advantage of the Carnival Guarantee.
pungo3 Posted November 9, 2004 #31 Share Posted November 9, 2004 What a shame. I was on the Legend in January and it was, by far, the best cruise I've had yet. No problems with smoke at all. Every cruise is different.
scubaRN Posted November 10, 2004 #32 Share Posted November 10, 2004 Emme I appreciated your review. We sailed on the smoke-free Paradise, which is not smoke-free anymore. It was so nice and clean. No old stale smell from smoke. Guess Carnival couldn't make enough money from non-smoking gamblers and drinkers. Big time loss. I wish each line had a smoke-free boat. I'm sailing on the Legend in Feb. I'm curious to see what my experience will be. Thanks for the review.
