Review: Legend of Seas - 3/11/06 DAY 7 + Depark

Recommended Posts

DAY 7 – DAY AT SEA: We slept in today and missed the View From the Top tour with Captain to our disappointment. It was totally by accident, but we were so tired from night before. I wish I would have made that!! We basically spent this last sea day in pool and enjoying sun one last time. The pool deck was the most crowded I had seen it the whole cruise, but everyone had same idea in mind as us, so I understood J We watched a little of the Art Auction today, and I couldn’t believe how much people bid on art for! I saw one piece go for $20,000!!! That is pure crazy!!!! It was definitely interesting to watch. We went to the farewell show, but only to see the Cruise In Review video they show right before it starts. We opted to not buy it this time, and didn’t stay for the Soul Mystique latin dancers. Just not interested, and we wanted to go finish packing before going to the St. Patrick’s Day Party at 8:00 PM. This was a lot of fun. They had a great game that the men participated in, and it gave me some of biggest laughs of cruise. Gavin (CD) really hosted this party right. They played some Irish tunes and served green beer and drinks. We left after about an hour, and still had some packing to do and then did a little casino action before watching the adult comedy act at 10:30 with Milt Abel again from first night. After this, we headed to Viking Crowne for the Karaoke Idol finale where my husband was ‘competing’ He didn’t end up winning, but people seemed to love his performance. All the finalists got medals for participating, and the winner won a trophy. My husband got a kick out of being able to entertain, which is the point I assume haha. Once this was over, we lost a few more bucks in casino and then got some late night snacks at Solarium, then walked around decks. Went back up to disco to people watch the “last night hookups” with all the spring breakers. Always amusing to watch these people work their routine. lol. We were actually pulling into Tampa Bay area when we went to bed that night at 3:00 AM. Needless to say, we got no sleep this night, as we had to be up at 700 AM.

DEPARTING SHIP: Wasn’t feeling great due to lack of sleep this morning. Very groggy. Had to be in one of public lounges by 8:00 AM. We didn’t get off ship until about a bit after 9:00 AM. Very smooth process though, and Customs was painless and staff at Port of Tampa terminal was very nice again, as they were on first day. Luggage was easily found and we were on our way home to Orlando by 9:30 AM. The guests in public lounges on ship were in very bad moods as they had to actually wait to get off ship. They didn’t seem to grasp you couldn’t all just get off at once..and that you had to be called in groups. I overheard a lot of angry people just trying to find ways to complain about everything the last minutes on ship. Pretty unbelievable. Also, people couldn’t WAIT to get on those cell phones once in Tampa. Good grief, who the heck are ya calling at 8:00 AM!?!? Anyway, that is our society…cell phones to the ear are the way of life.

Overall, I had a very good cruise on Legend. I just wish I could cruise her a different month to avoid the college Spring Breakers!!!!!!!! There are tons of things to do on this ship, and despite the few things I did not like on this ship, I had more compliments than complaints when it was all said and done. We are trying Mariner next, and looking forward to that in another year!
